In late September, I had a memorable and fun experience in attending a baby shower for my best friend Irene’s daughter, Abbay, in Memphis, Tennessee. It’s always special going back home to see old friends and get lots of good visits in. Everyone gathered for the occasion and we all got to catch up and shower the mother-to-be with baby boy gifts! Abbay came in from New York and looked amazing.
As she always does, Susan opened her lovely home and gave a gorgeous luncheon to honor Irene and Abbay. Susan is an amazing hostess. I was thrilled when she, Irene, and Abbay asked that I make my specialty quiche for the party, especially when she was having it catered.
The great thing about quiche is it is a one-pan meal. It tastes great at any temperature and is a true crowd pleaser. It is easy enough to make that even as I was on the road and in Irene’s kitchen, I had a wonderful opportunity to do something special for my friends. Making a dish or two from scratch is a meaningful gift and one that people don’t forget.
Needless to say, we all had a great time and both my dishes were empty by the time we left. There is nothing like good friends sharing great food. Check out my blog recipes for my personal quiche recipe and try it. Maybe you can take one to one of your next special occasions, too.
